Athletes and Parents,

We still have a lot of information about the season. Please read all the way through so you are aware of any changes that may be occurring to our meet schedule.

SNACK AND DRINKS: The Snack and Drink Schedule has been created.  It will be posted along with this update.  If we have missed any athletes please let the coaches know so we can add you in.  Please donate enough items for 24-25 athletes.  We are averaging about 30-35 athletes at away dual meets and 64 at home.  At invitationals, we will have anywhere from 30-50 athletes competing.

Snacks – we are requesting healthy snacks such as: peanut butter crackers, fruit snacks, fresh fruits, trail mix, granola, bagels ect.  Please try to avoid items that could melt such as candy.

Drinks – any electrolyte drinks such as gatorade or powerade.

Water – brand will work and we ask that you donate 2 cases of water.  Water is one of the first things to disappear at a swim meet.

We are asking that you drop off your items 1-2 days before the meet you are donating for.  Please drop off at the YMCA  during practice time.  If you are unable to do so please contact Coach Stewart to schedule a drop off time.

ATTENDANCE:  Attendance is still an issue.  Athletes and Parents attendance communication is not being provided.  Athletes are just missing practice.  As noted in the handbook this will be an unexcused absence.  Unexcused absences can lead to an athlete being kicked off the team.  If you miss practice for a school function, tutoring, doctor’s appointment, home sick from school, ect you must follow the proper steps in getting your absence excused.  These steps are outlined in the Verrado Swim and Dive Handbook.  Please note that if you go home sick from school or stay home from school your absence will be verified with the school.  If you are well enough to attend school you are expected to attend practice.

CLUB ATHLETES:  Club Athletes your August club calendar is due to Coach Bourland by Monday, Sept 11th.  Please contact Coach Bourland if you have questions.

SUITS:  Our team store has been up and running on East Valley Sports, contact Coach Bourland for more information.  This is your final reminder about suits.  If you have an issue please contact the coaches

TEAM SHIRTS:  Team shirts have been designed by Coach Stewart and we are in the process of getting them ready for order.  Athletes need to notify Coach Stewart of their shirt sizes no later than Mon, Sept 11th.  You can reach Coach Stewart via email at ddstewart33@gmail.com.  Shirts are $20 please pay the bookstore.

FAN SHIRTS: We are currently designing the Parent/Fan shirts. More information will be sent out when those are ready.

SENIOR NIGHT:  Coaches are planning senior night.  Parents, senior night is the last home meet of the season which is against Corona del Sol.  This is Thursday, October 19th.

PICTURE DAY:  Sept 28th  Team picture day.  Athletes are to wear their team suits.

MEET CHANGE:  The meet against Liberty has been moved to Tuesday Sept 12th.
